Learning to fly...

I've put the KA-50 on hold, and I've begun reading and training in the viper so I can focus on helping complete a few projects here.
I have to say I've got a lot to learn about flying. After two nights I can ramp start from memory and I only occasionally turn the wrong way during the taxi. I've even got the bird airborne (only once leaving the gear on the ground.) I've got to learn the basics around air traffic patterns and properly using my instruments to fly routes. I only understand about 1/3 of what's on the DED. Man is it going to be a fun ride.
I'm reading through the Allied Forces manual and dash-34 on open falcon. Anyone have any other suggestions on reading or order of things to learn?
